I’m generally an unorthodox kind of person, and I dont have a background in the Orthodox church, however I do find the whole Orthodox Christianity thing interesting – and I beleive that just as we have with catholicism, those of us who are in a protestant evangelical or even post evangelical sphere have lost something of the richness that exists in Orthodoxy.

Anyway, enough of my opinions, an orthodox blogger who often has interesting things to say is Steve Hayes who is to be found over at Notes from Underground, today he has an interesting post about Utopian communities – well worth a read…

I like this little nugget: “Christians are essentially eccentric, and Christian communities are eccentric communities. Eccentricity is another way of expressing the idea of utopia. It is having a different centre.”

P.s. What is it with Orthodoxy and beards?
